Sea Trade & Specialty Commerce¶
A player-driven shipping economy. Craft a city's specialty trade pack from bulk resources, haul it overland to the docks and out to sea, and deliver it to a foreign harbor master for gold. Packs are heavy, slow you to a walk, block magical travel, and can be stolen or looted — so every delivery is a risk worth guarding, and a target worth chasing.
The Loop at a Glance¶
- Gather 1,000 of each of a city's two resources (store them in commodity deeds — you can't realistically carry that much loose).
- Craft a specialty pack at that city's Specialty Workbench.
- Haul it — on foot or by ship — to a city your origin has a trade route to. You're forced to walk the whole way while it's in your pack.
- Deliver it to that city's Harbor Master for gold. Faster deliveries earn a freshness bonus.
Specialty Workbenches¶
Double-click any workbench to see its recipe, the delivery payouts to every linked city, and a Craft button. Each pack needs 1,000 of each listed resource, which may sit loose in your pack or (far more practically) inside commodity deeds.
| City | Recipe (1,000 each) |
|---|---|
| Britain | wheat sheaves · bales of cotton |
| Trinsic | boards · hides |
| Vesper | shadow iron ingots · raw fish steaks |
| Skara Brae | wheat sheaves · piles of wool |
| Moonglow | garlic · ginseng |
| Jhelom | hides · raw ribs |
| Magincia | black pearls · nightshade |
| Occlo | flax · raw fish steaks |
| Minoc | iron ingots · gold ingots |
| Serpent's Hold | bones · raw ribs |
| Yew | logs · piles of wool |
Commodity deeds
Fill a deed at any bank (double-click the deed, target the resource stack in your bank box or commodity deed box). Deeds are blessed — they can't be stolen — so they're the safe way to stockpile and carry the 1,000-count resources a pack needs. Every resource used by the system can be turned into a deed.
Carrying a Trade Pack¶
A specialty pack is heavy (100 stones) and comes with strings attached while it's in your backpack:
- You are forced to walk — on foot and mounted. Running resumes the instant the pack leaves your backpack.
- No magical travel — Recall, Gate Travel, public moongates, and teleporters are all blocked while you carry one. It goes by land and sea only.
- It can only live in two places: your main backpack, or a ship's hold. It can't be banked, dropped in other containers, or secure-traded.
- It's lootable — it drops on death and can be stolen off a corpse (see Piracy below).
To move freely again, stow it in a ship's hold, turn it in, or drop it on the ground.
Trade Routes & Payouts¶
Trade only flows along established routes, and each origin ranks its destinations by value. A pack is deliverable only to a city on its origin's route list.
Payout by rank:
| Rank | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gold | 9,000 | 7,500 | 6,000 | 5,000 | 4,000 | 3,000 |
Routes (each origin's destinations, highest pay → lowest):
| From ↓ | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Britain | Jhelom | Minoc | Moonglow | Serpent's Hold | Occlo | Trinsic |
| Trinsic | Yew | Moonglow | Minoc | Vesper | Britain | Jhelom |
| Vesper | Skara Brae | Jhelom | Serpent's Hold | Yew | Trinsic | Occlo |
| Skara Brae | Vesper | Minoc | Serpent's Hold | Occlo | Moonglow | Magincia |
| Moonglow | Jhelom | Serpent's Hold | Trinsic | Yew | Minoc | Britain |
| Jhelom | Vesper | Moonglow | Britain | Yew | Magincia | Skara Brae |
| Magincia | Yew | Minoc | Jhelom | Britain | Serpent's Hold | Skara Brae |
| Occlo | Yew | Skara Brae | Minoc | Jhelom | Britain | Moonglow |
| Minoc | Skara Brae | Britain | Magincia | Occlo | Trinsic | Moonglow |
| Serpent's Hold | Yew | Skara Brae | Moonglow | Vesper | Britain | Jhelom |
| Yew | Magincia | Occlo | Trinsic | Serpent's Hold | Minoc | Vesper |
Routes are one-directional — A→B can pay differently than B→A, and a pair is only tradeable if it's listed above. (Example: Trinsic→Yew pays rank 1 / 9,000, while Yew→Trinsic pays rank 3 / 6,000.)
Freshness bonus
Deliver within 45 minutes of crafting for a ×1.15 payout. The pack's tooltip shows "Fresh" while the bonus is live.
Delivery & the Daily Limit¶
Turn packs in by using the destination city's Harbor Master (stand within a few tiles). Gold is deposited straight to your bank.
- Daily cap: 5 pack turn-ins per player, per 24 hours (rolling window). This counts every pack you hand in — ones you crafted and ones you looted. If you're over, the harbor master tells you when a slot frees up.
Piracy¶
Packs are fair game. If you kill or steal a pack from another player, you have two options:
- Turn it in for a reduced rate — a looted pack pays half (×0.5) the normal reward at any valid destination harbor master. It still counts against your daily limit.
- Break it down for the resources — drop the pack on the workbench in its origin city to destroy it and receive its full 1,000-of-each resources back as commodity deeds. (Only that city's bench can break down its own packs.)
The original crafter still gets full price for their own packs — the reduced rate only applies to packs you didn't make.
Harbor Masters & Locations¶
All eleven cities have a named Harbor Master and a Specialty Workbench, all on Felucca:
| City | Harbor Master | Harbor Master loc | Workbench loc |
|---|---|---|---|
| Britain | Salty | (1479, 1751, 0) | (1468, 1758, -2) |

| Skara Brae | Gil | (600, 2285, 0) | (603, 2278, 0) |
| Moonglow | Sage | (4273, 986, 2) | (4275, 979, 0) |
| Jhelom | Chops | (1372, 3885, -2) | (1365, 3886, -2) |
| Magincia | Marlin | (3673, 2289, 4) | (3664, 2267, 21) |
| Occlo | Hardtack | (3742, 2461, 1) | (3739, 2457, 1) |
| Minoc | Nugget | (2365, 222, 1) | (2348, 222, 1) |
| Serpent's Hold | Fang | (3003, 3465, 15) | (2983, 3458, 15) |
| Yew | Cork | (610, 796, 1) | (608, 789, 1) |
(Harbor masters also buy trophy fish and roam a tile or two around their post.)
Player Tips¶
- Deed everything first. You can't carry 1,000 loose resources sensibly, and deeds are theft-proof.
- Plan the route before you craft — check the workbench gump for which cities your origin can reach and what each pays.
- Fresh pays more. Have your ship and route ready before you craft to catch the 45-minute window.
- Guard the haul. No recall, no gate, walking speed only — you're exposed the whole trip. Sail with friends or expect pirates.
- Pirates: breaking a pack down for deeds is guaranteed value; a reduced-rate turn-in is faster gold but eats a daily slot.
