Caravans: Moving Resources

Caravans are lootable overland convoys that move resources from city caches to the faction's home stronghold depot. A faction member loads goods and drives an escorted pack beast to deliver them.

Caravan Carriers (Pack Beasts)

Each caravan is a high-HP pack beast that follows commands but is immune to:

  • Taming
  • Provocation / Peacemaking / Discordance
  • External control

The beast has high hit points but is vulnerable to enemy attack and uses no control slots.

Loading & Origins

Faction members load caravans at two mainland posts:

  • Minoc (in-city)
  • Britain (in-city)

Skara Brae loads from its mainland dock (loads separate island goods, launches overland).

Load Limits

  • Up to 2,000 units per trip
  • One caravan per city in transit
  • 30-minute cooldown after a run completes

Destination & Delivery

All factions deliver to their home-base depot. Arriving within ~8 tiles automatically delivers the cargo to the faction stockpile.

Driving the Beast

  • You are forced to walk (no running)
  • Recall, Gate Travel, and Teleport are blocked
  • You must stay within ~18 tiles of the beast
  • If you die, log off, or leave the faction, the beast halts and waits for another faction member to take over
  • Unclaimed for 60 minutes → beast becomes a wreck

Interception

Rival factions can attack and kill the caravan beast. If slain, it leaves a decaying wreck holding:

  • 75% of cargo as tagged cargo crates (looted normally)
  • 25% sinks (lost)

Only your faction can deposit crates at your depot — dropping crates credits your faction's stockpile.

Wreck Decay

An unlooted wreck decays in about 60 minutes, losing the cargo.
