Trade Packs & Taxation

Trade packs are orders created at city NPCs. Raw materials are assembled into packages, taxed during creation, and delivered to destination cities where they convert into tactical resources or gold.

Mainland Recipes

Each production city has a recipe combining two raw goods:

City Recipe
Minoc Iron Ingots + Bolts of Wool
Britain Logs + Iron Ingots
Skara Brae Bolts of Wool + Logs
Trinsic / Yew / Vesper Raw Fish Steaks + Wheat Sheaves

Island cities (Moonglow, Jhelom, etc.) retain their classic recipes and deliver gold only.

Resource Conversions

When a pack is delivered, raw goods convert to cache goods:

Raw → Cache Good Conversion
Iron Ingots → Iron 1:1
Logs → Boards 1:1
Raw Fish Steaks → Food 1:1
Wheat → Food 1:1
Wool / Cotton / Flax → Bolts of Cloth 5:1
Anything else (gold, hides, etc.) Sinks (lost)

Taxation & Flow

Craft Tax (10%)

When you craft a pack, 10% of each raw material is skimmed and added to the origin city's cache. The remaining 90% is assembled into the pack.

Delivery

Delivered goods = recipe good × (1 − craft tax 10%) × (1 − delivery sink 20%)

Example: A 1,000-unit pack arriving becomes 1,000 × 0.9 × 0.8 = 720 units in the destination cache.

Gold Payout

If delivering to a non-faction location or an unaligned town, the runner receives Gold instead:

  • Base gold × freshness multiplier × depreciation
  • Crown tax 10% is withheld (sunk)
  • City tax (default 10%) goes to the destination owner's faction Gold treasury
  • Net gold reaches the runner's bank

Fatigue & Depreciation

The same character cannot run unlimited packs. Each turn-in reduces your Gold payout by 10%; the penalty recovers at 10% every 2 hours. Cap: 60% reduction (40% floor).

Fatigue never affects delivered goods — only gold payouts.
