Donation System¶

UO Unchained is free to play. Donations help cover server costs and are rewarded with Ember Crowns — a premium currency spent at the donation vendor on cosmetic and quality-of-life items. Nothing sold for Ember Crowns grants stats, skills, gold, or combat power.

Ember Crowns¶


Rate	$1 USD = 1 Ember Crown
Appearance	Coin currency with a distinctive ember hue
Tradeable	Yes — crowns can be freely traded between players
Stealable	Coins behave like gold; keep them banked when not spending
Shared pool	Crowns belong to you, not a single game account — all three of your game accounts draw from the same balance

Ember Crown Checks¶

Large claims arrive as an Ember Crown Check — a weightless, bank-friendly deed storing your full amount. Double-click the check to cash it into Ember Crown coins (it fills your bank box first, then your backpack). Checks cannot be spent directly at the vendor — cash them first.

How to Donate & Claim¶

Donate on the website — log in at uounchained.com with your Discord-linked account and purchase Ember Crowns (any amount; $1 = 1 crown).
Claim in game — log in on any of your characters and type:

An Ember Crown Check for your full unclaimed balance is placed in your bank box.
Double-click the check to cash it into spendable Ember Crown coins.

Note: Your bank box needs room for one item (the check is weightless). If the claim reports no balance, confirm your website purchase completed and that you're logged into the correct linked account.

The Donation Vendor¶

Find the Keeper of the Ember Exchange (the donation merchant) near the bank. Open the shop any of three ways:

Double-click the vendor
Single-click → context menu → Buy
Say "vendor buy" while standing nearby

Shop rules¶

Spending: purchases use Ember Crown coins in your backpack only. Banked crowns and uncashed checks don't count — withdraw coins to your pack first. The shop screen shows your spendable balance and reminds you if crowns are sitting in your bank.
Delivery: every purchased item is delivered directly to your bank box — never your backpack — so fresh purchases can't be stolen on the bank steps.
Full bank: if your bank box can't hold the item, the purchase is refused and no crowns are spent. Make room and try again.
Every purchase asks for confirmation before charging you.

Our Pledge: Never Pay-to-Win¶

The donation shop is cosmetic and quality-of-life only. We will never sell:

Gold or in-game currency
Skills, stats, or skill gain
Weapons, armor, or anything granting combat power

Because Ember Crowns are tradeable, every item in the shop is also attainable without spending real money — buy crowns from other players with in-game gold.
